Yamaha WR155R Based On R15 Launched In Indonesia

Yamaha has introduced the WR155R off-road bike in Indonesia, deliveries commence.

The Yamaha WR155R has been launched in Indonesia

Yamaha showcased the WR155R dual sport bike in Indonesia last year in December. The Japanese bike maker has now commenced deliveries of the bike in Indonesia.

The Yamaha WR155R shares its engine with the YZF-R15 V3.0 but with different tuning. The 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine produces 16.5 BHP and 14.3 Nm on the WR155R, mated to a six-speed gearbox.

The same engine churns out 18.4 BHP and 14.1 Nm on the YZF-R15 V3.0. The WR155R is based on a different platform though, underpinned by a semi-double cradle frame with 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels.

The bike gets 41 mm front forks and preload-adjustable gas charged rear monoshock suspension. Braking duties come from 240 mm single disc at the front and 220 mm disc at the rear.

While the Yamaha WR155R is not expected to be launched in India, the Japanese bike maker is considering to introduce an FZ25 based adventure motorcycle in our country.
