2018 Toyota Rush Unveiled, No India Launch

The 2018 Toyota Rush has been unveiled in Indonesia, prices to be revealed in January 2018.

Toyota has taken the wraps off the 2018 Rush in Indonesia. Prices for the second generation Rush will be revealed in January 2018 only. In terms of design and looks, the 2018 Rush adopts a more MPV crossover design language. In appearance though, the vehicle gets all the bits like the black body cladding, raised ground clearance and the faux skid plates that make it look like an SUV. The grille is finished in black and is flanked by LED headlights on either side. The crossover gets LED tail-lights as well.

The interior gets a dual-tone black and beige dashboard with soft-touch materials that lend a premium feel. The instrument console gets blue and white backlighting and a multi-information display. A 7-inch touchscreen AVN with Miracast and Weblink capabilities is housed in the centre console. Toyota offers the Rush in two variants – G and TRD Sportivo. The TRD Sportivo gets cosmetic enhancements like TRD badged scuff plates with red highlights, 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, side moulding, black fog lamp garnishes and TRD badge on the rear door. The G trim in comparison gets 16-inch alloy wheels.

Powering the vehicle is a 2NR-VE, four-cylinder, Dual VVT-i petrol motor that develops 104 PS and 136 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission (for the G variant) while the TRD Sportivo variant is equipped with a 4-speed automatic transmission. Expect Toyota to price the 2018 Rush TRD Sportivo at approximately IDR 300 million (approximately Rs. 14.38 lakhs). The Toyota Rush isn’t likely to be launched in the Indian market
