2020 Honda City Recalled In Thailand, Deliveries On Hold

2020 Honda City Details

Honda is recalling the new generation City in Thailand to fix an issue with the window run channel.

The Honda City will be manufactured at the company’s Tapukara plant in India

Honda unveiled the all-new City a couple of months back and the sedan went on sale in Thailand with a few cars already being delivered. Now, the Japanese automaker has issued a recall for the City and the company has asked its Thai dealers to halt deliveries of the vehicle and even call back the cars which have been delivered.

There is some issue with the window run channel which is a rubber strip that runs around the windows of the car. Honda is investigating the issue and will inform dealers once there is some update. Just like any other recall, this issue will also be rectified free of cost.

Recalls are proactive steps taken by manufacturers so that customers do not have to face issues with regards to car ownership and a recall undertaken as soon as an issue is recognised is a welcome step.

The 5th generation Honda City is going to be launched in India too. The vehicle was expected to arrive in early 2020 but now it is expected to hit the market by the second half of this year. The Honda City rivals the Hyundai Verna, Maruti Ciaz, Volkswagen Vento, Skoda Rapid and Toyota Yaris.
