Nissan has discontinued the diesel engine options of the Kicks

The Nissan Kicks will be getting a new BS6 compliant 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine update soon. The Japanese automaker has announced the launch of the same, which is expected to happen soon after the lockdown is lifted.

The 1.3-litre turbo engine will be shared with the Renault Duster and it was showcased too at the Auto Expo 2020. Nissan claims it will be the most powerful engine in its class.

The HR13 DDT 1.3L 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine produces 156 PS and 254 Nm of torque. Nissan will be offering this engine with a X-tronic CVT automatic transmission.

The X-tronic CVT comes with eight-step M mode. The Japanese carmaker claims the new auto box offers 40 percent less friction returning higher fuel economy and acceleration response. It’s yet to be known if it will be offered with a manual gearbox too.

We don’t expect any cosmetic changes or new feature additions with this update of the Kicks. The variants and pricing will be announced at the time of the launch.
