2021 Citroen C3 Design Leaked Ahead Of Global Debut

The final design of the 2021 model year Citroen C3 has been leaked through scale model images that have surfaced online.

To be sold in India later this year, the sub-4-metre SUV looks different from the C3 sold abroad and it will be making its global debut in the coming months.

At the front, the 2021 Citroen C3 comes with an angry “face” thanks to the way its grille and updated lighting units are placed.

The front bumper is new and has a bigger air intake than before, while the skid plate is different. The fog lamps that sit inside hexagonal housings do remain close to the bottom of the bumper.

Along the sides, instead of a curvy profile, the 2021 Citroen C3 design is a bit more sharper thanks to concave surfaces present close to the front and rear, a smaller glasshouse with rising beltline, flatter door handles, different door cladding, and roof which has rails.

Now, the rear section of the C3 scale model sporting a white paint scheme with contrasting orange-coloured roof and exterior trim bits, comes with sharper tail lamps, and a new bumper as well.

Internally code-named CC21X, the compact SUV has been spied on test plentiful times in the recent past and it will come with a large touchscreen and an instrument cluster similar to the one on the C5 Aircross.

Interestingly, scale models of the C3 Aircross that were next to the 2021 C3 show that the small SUV will get the same updated front fascia, but with a different skid plate and new alloy wheels. The side and rear profiles of the vehicle stay as is.

In India, Citroen is expected to launch a hatchback version of the 2021 C3 which should do without the extra body cladding and roof rails. Also, the made-in-India compact crossover could be named the C3 Sporty.

Both models will come powered by a 1.2-litre turbo petrol motor which can be paired with either a 5-speed manual or an automatic gearbox, while a naturally aspirated version of the motor could well be offered as well.
