2021 Kawasaki Z1000 Front
The menacing looks are retained as before

The 2021 Kawasaki Z1000 has been revealed for the Indonesian market with a RM 349,000,000 (Rs. 17.78 lakhs) price tag.

Kawasaki has unusually decided to sell the bike to customers with a single colour option, nope not in its famous green but in black. However, there are red design highlights on the headlight cowl, fenders, near the pillion seat and on the rims.

It might not be to every one’s tastes, but the bike does look menacing and those who like the stealth look, will be pleased. Not that nobody would notice you coming, after all, it a litre-class naked, so black or not, people will know that you are coming.

Otherwise, it is the usual affair with the bike and thus the sharp looks, those mean-eyed twin headlights, muscular fuel tank and body parts that have numerous lines and cuts and creases are all present.

Power comes from the 1043cc in-line 4-cylinder motor that makes 142 PS of peak power at 10,000 RPM and 111 Nm of peak torque at 7300 RPM. It drives the rear wheel through a 6-speed gearbox and there is an assist and a slipper clutch on offer.

Suspension-wise, the 2021 Kawasaki Z1000 gets fully adjustable 41mm BPF inverted forks from Showa and a Horizontal Back-link monoshock from Ohlins at the back.

Braking is done via 310mm dual petal discs with radially-mounted mono-block callipers upfront and 250mm petal unit at the rear. It only gets ABS, there is no traction control. So, if you want it to be a hooligan, it will be one.

We expect the bike to be launched in India as well and expect pricing to be similar to the old Z1000, so, it might be priced around Rs. 15 lakhs (ex-showroom).
