Deliveries of the 2022 Force Gurkha will commence in October

Force Motors has revealed the 2022 Gurkha which will go on sale come 27th September. Deliveries of the off-roader will commence on 15th October 2021.

The Pune-based automotive firm has made use of a new modular architecture for the new generation Gurkha which features a new body which is longer and wider.

Although its looks are still inspired by the erstwhile Mercedes G-Wagen, the vehicle does look a bit different than the previous model.

Up front, there is a new and large Gurkha branding, LED headlamps (with ‘follow me home’ and cornering functions), LED DRLs and LED indicators mounted on the fenders.

Along the sides, the car has an air intake snorkel, a new metallic mnemonic, and large rear windows, while at the rear the tail gate has a spare wheel and the lights and the bumpers have been restyled too.

Measuring 4116 mm long, the new Gurkha is 1812 mm wide, 2075 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2400 mm, while the cargo volume is 500 litres.

Interior
The interior styling is old school, but the cabin features notable modern equipment

Inside, the dark-themed cabin comes with 4 captain chairs, steering wheel with tilt and telescopic adjustment, a moulded floor mat, and features like a 7-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth connectivity, USB and charging ports and 4 speakers.

Further, the 2022 Force Gurkha also comes with rear parking sensors and a tyre pressure monitoring system, along with safety tech such as dual front airbags, ABS, EBD and all 3 passenger seats of the 4-seat vehicle come with ISOFIX mounts.

There are disc brakes at the front and drum jobbies at the back, while the compact off-roader rides on 16-inch wheels wrapped with 245/70-section rubber. Force Motors also says the SUV has new suspension.

It has a 63-litre fuel tank

Power comes from a 2596cc, 4-cylinder turbodiesel engine that makes a maximum of 91 HP at 3200 RPM and 250 Nm of peak torque between 1400 and 2400 RPM. It is mated to a 5-speed transmission.

As standard, the compact SUV comes with manually operated, positive locking, mechanical differential locks and can thus can wade streams up to a depth of 700 mm, while its gradeability is 35 degrees in 4×4 mode.

Force Motors offers a warranty of 3 years or 1.50 lakh km for the new generation Gurkha. Customers will get 4 free services and the Pune-based firm has tied by with Auto Europa India, which has over 6200 touch points, for on-road assistance.
