The asking price of the 2022 Skoda Kodiaq rises till Rs. 37.49 lakhs (ex-showroom)

Skoda has launched the 2022 Kodiaq at a starting price of Rs. 34.99 lakhs (ex-showroom) today in India. The premium SUV is offered in 3 grades – Style, SportLine and Laurin & Klement (L&K).

Available exclusively as a 7-seater, the refreshed Kodiaq comes with a revised hexagonal radiator grille, a new bonnet, tweaked bumpers, crystalline LED headlights with DRLs, dynamic turn indicators at the rear and a new rear spoiler.

The L&K variant comes with 360-degree camera as standard

Riding on 18-inch alloy wheels, the SUV has, as standard, adaptive front headlights, electrically adjustable, auto-dimming, heated and foldable ORVMs, external mirror defogger, rear windscreen defogger, rain-sensing wipers, parking sensors front and rear and electrically controlled opening and closing of boot lid, among other features.

Inside, for the premium price, the 2022 Skoda Kodiaq comes equipped with linear diamond decor, stone beige upholstery, 2-spoke multifunctional leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather-wrapped gear shifter, 12-way electrically adjustable front seats, 3-zone air-con, sun visors for rear windows, remote controlled opening and closing of windows, folding/unfolding ORVMs and closing of panoramic sunroof and one-touch windows, as standard.

The second row has a 40:20:40 split seat backrest, while the third row backrest is 50-50 split

Similarly, the other standard features the car has include auto-dimming IRVM, rear-view camera, Park Assist with handsfree parking, keyless entry with engine start-stop, 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, 625 W and 12-speaker Canton sound system, My Skoda Connect, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, voice command control, cruise control, and an analogue cluster (other grades get a 10.25-inch Virtual Cockpit).

It goes without saying that the Style and L&K variants focus on the rear seat luxury, while the SportLine has a more driver-oriented appeal with all black interiors, a 3-spoke flat-bottom sport steering wheel, integrated headrests, among other things.

Besides the standard features, the 2022 Kodiaq comes with tonnes of storage spaces, 270 litres of boot space with 7 seats in place (expandable to 630 litres with 5 seats in place or 2005 litres with last 2 rows folded), and plentiful thoughtful touches including an umbrella wet case in both front doors.

For the first time, the Kodiaq comes equipped with a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine making a maximum of 190 PS and 320 Nm. It is teamed to a responsive 7-speed DSG transmission sending power to all 4 wheels.

The car has a ‘Progressive Steering’ and Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) in the L&K grade which allows the driver to select between ‘Eco’, ‘Comfort’, ‘Normal’, ‘Sports’, ‘Snow’ and ‘Individual’ driving modes and brings electronically controlled dual-shell, gas-liquid shock absorbers.

In terms of safety the premium SUV comes as standard with 9 airbags, electronic, mechanical and hydraulic brake assist, ABS, EBS, ESC, Electronic Differential Lock (EDL), Multi-Collision Brake (MCB), Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR), among others. The L&K variant also come with hill descent control, in addition.
