2026 Tata Punch Facelift Spied

2026 Tata Punch facelift spotted testing with refreshed design & upgraded features

Tata Motors is preparing a mid-cycle update for one of its most successful models, the Punch. Since its introduction, it has remained a strong performer in the brand’s portfolio, with only incremental feature additions over the years. Now, fresh spy images indicate that a facelifted version is nearing production. Spotted by MotorBeamer Aryan Ghanwat.

Recent sightings show two Tata Punch facelift test vehicles testing together, wearing camouflage. Compared to earlier test mules, these prototypes appear closer to final production specification, hinting that the updated model could be approaching its market debut.

Exterior updates inspired by Punch EV

At the front, the facelifted Punch is expected to receive a redesigned bumper and revised grille layout. The grille now appears to feature horizontal air intake slats, while camouflage placement on the lower bumper suggests the possible integration of an ADAS sensor module.

The LED daytime running lamps look slimmer than before, and the headlamps appear to adopt a vertically stacked layout similar to the Punch EV. Depending on the variant, the lighting setup may also include fog lamps with a cornering function. A clamshell-style bonnet remains, maintaining the SUV’s familiar stance.

From the side, the test vehicles reveal new alloy wheel designs, though these are fully camouflaged. The body cladding looks similar to the current model, retaining its thick, rugged appearance and remaining unpainted. Interestingly, the presence of cameras indicates a potential 360-degree camera system, which could also support advanced blind-spot monitoring features.

Interior upgrades expected

While the exterior retains the Punch’s recognisable silhouette, the cabin is expected to see more noticeable updates. Previous spy shots suggest a redesigned dashboard and centre console, along with a new steering wheel featuring an illuminated Tata logo. A larger touchscreen infotainment system measuring around 10.2 inches is also expected.

Additional features likely to be offered include ventilated front seats, a fully digital instrument cluster and Level 2 ADAS functionality, depending on the variant lineup.

Powertrain details

Mechanically, the 2026 Tata Punch facelift is expected to continue with the existing engine options. These include the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and its CNG derivative. The practical dual-cylinder CNG layout is likely to be retained. Transmission options should remain unchanged as well, with a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT on offer.

The facelifted Tata Punch is expected to launch in the first half of 2026.
