Royal Enfield Scram 440 Deliveries & Bookings Temporarily Halted After Recognising A Startup Issue

Royal Enfield has temporarily paused the bookings and deliveries of the Scram 440. This is done to solve an issue related to the bike’s starting procedure, especially after prolonged usage.

The problem is attributed to a faulty component, which is getting rectified as of present. Royal Enfield has confirmed that it isn’t a safety issue and bikes aren’t stalling. The problem occurs in certain conditions when the bike fails to start.

The Scram 440 was launched in December 2024, and deliveries began in January 2025. Only 2% of the delivered units have reported this issue. The affected bikes are being recalled to authorised service centres for fixing. Dealerships and factories will repair the unsold units based on their location over time.

Outlook

The rectification process should take a few weeks. Bookings and deliveries are expected to commence in June 2025. The exact number of units affected hasn’t been revealed. However, due to the prompt response of Royal Enfield, it is highly likely that the situation will be brought under control and restore customer confidence.
