Ducati Superleggera V4 Centenario

Ducati Superleggera V4 Centenario combines extreme performance with lightweight engineering focus

Ducati has revealed the Superleggera V4 Centenario, a highly exclusive and track-focused iteration of its Panigale V4 platform. Designed as a showcase of lightweight engineering and performance, the motorcycle will be produced in limited numbers globally, with a capped production run and an even more exclusive Tricolore variant.

The Superleggera V4 Centenario is built around a reworked version of Ducati’s 1103cc Desmosedici Stradale engine, tuned to prioritise both weight reduction and performance. In standard road-legal form, the bike produces 228 HP, while a track-only configuration – enabled through a dedicated performance kit – increases output to 247 HP.

Weight-saving measures play a central role in the motorcycle’s design. Ducati has extensively used carbon fibre across key structural components, including the frame, swingarm, subframe and wheels. Additional use of lightweight materials such as titanium fasteners further contributes to reducing overall mass. In its lightest configuration, the motorcycle weighs around 167 kg (without fuel), resulting in an exceptionally high power-to-weight ratio.

The Superleggera also introduces several advanced components not commonly seen on road-legal motorcycles. It is equipped with carbon-ceramic brake discs, designed to maintain consistent performance under extreme temperatures while reducing rotational mass. The suspension setup includes MotoGP-derived Öhlins units featuring carbon-fibre outer fork tubes, aimed at improving feedback and reducing weight.

From an electronics standpoint, the motorcycle comes with Ducati’s full suite of rider aids, including traction control, wheelie control, slide control, multiple riding modes and engine brake management systems. Additional features such as a quickshifter and refined gear engagement mechanisms are also included to enhance performance during aggressive riding conditions.

Ducati will produce a total of 600 units of the Superleggera V4 Centenario worldwide. Out of these, 500 units will feature the standard Centenario livery, while 100 units will be offered in a Tricolore theme inspired by the Italian flag. Buyers will also receive exclusive accessories, including a matching helmet and custom delivery packaging.

International pricing is estimated at around 150,000 Euros, with indicative costs in India expected to fall in the range of Rs. 2.5 crore to Rs. 3 crore, depending on specifications and import considerations.
