2026 Bajaj Chetak

Bajaj Auto has rolled out updates for its Chetak electric scooter lineup, introducing new features, improved performance and a revised naming strategy. Despite these changes, pricing remains unchanged, with the range continuing to start at Rs. 89,500 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru) and extending up to Rs. 1.34 laks for higher variants.

A key part of the update is the introduction of a simplified ‘C Series’ naming structure. The lineup is now grouped under C25, C30 and C35 series, aligning it more closely with newer variants. While the naming has been streamlined, the suffix-based variant hierarchy continues, which may still take some getting used to for buyers.

Feature additions are most noticeable on the higher-spec variants. The C3501, for instance, now offers integrated navigation through Google Maps via the dedicated Chetak app. It also benefits from a slight increase in motor output, now rated at 4.8kW, which contributes to an improved top speed of 80 km/hr.

Performance upgrades have been extended across the range. The C35 series now reaches up to 80 km/hr, while select C30 variants see their top speeds rise to 70 km/hr. The entry-level C25 variant also gets a bump, now capable of 60 km/hr. Claimed range figures stand at up to 153 km for the C35, 127 km for the C30 and 113 km for the C25 series.

Bajaj has also standardised certain features across more variants. Ride modes, including Eco and Sport, along with hill-hold assist, are now offered as standard on the C35 and C30 series. Additionally, charging times have been reduced on some models, with the C3001 now capable of charging from 0 to 80 percent in under three hours.

Another notable addition is support for over-the-air (OTA) updates on select variants, allowing users to receive software improvements without visiting a service centre.

With these changes, Bajaj aims to enhance the overall usability and appeal of the Chetak range, particularly by offering more features as standard while maintaining competitive pricing. However, while the updates improve convenience and performance, the revised naming strategy may still require some familiarisation among prospective buyers.
