Honda could finally bring the ADV160 adventure scooter to India, with recent reports suggesting a launch is likely by early 2027.

The latest development comes after Honda patented the ADV160 in India. While a patent filing doesn’t guarantee a launch, it is usually a sign that the company is evaluating the product for the Indian market. Combined with recent industry reports, the chances of seeing the ADV160 in India now appear stronger than before.

The timing also makes sense. The premium scooter segment in India is growing steadily, with models like the Yamaha Aerox 155 and the recently launched Hero Xoom 160 attracting buyers who want something more exciting than a traditional scooter. The ADV160 could give Honda a strong rival in this space.

One of the biggest highlights of the ADV160 is its adventure-bike-inspired design. It gets a tall windscreen, aggressive styling, LED lighting, long-travel suspension and a rugged overall look that helps it stand out from conventional scooters.
Internationally, the ADV160 is powered by a 157cc liquid-cooled engine producing around 16 bhp. It also comes loaded with premium features such as keyless ignition, a digital instrument cluster, traction control and a large under-seat storage compartment.

Honda has patented several global products in India over the years without launching all of them, so there is still no official confirmation from the company. However, the growing popularity of premium scooters and the lack of a direct rival to the Aerox 155 in Honda’s lineup make the ADV160 a strong candidate for India.

If launched, the ADV160 is expected to sit above the Activa range and become Honda’s flagship scooter in the country. It would also give Indian buyers another option in the small but growing adventure-scooter segment.

For now, all signs point towards Honda seriously considering the ADV160 for India. While an official announcement is still awaited, a launch by 2027 looks increasingly likely.
