Honda has commenced road testing of an updated version of the Elevate in India, indicating that a mid-cycle refresh could be introduced in the coming months. A camouflaged test vehicle was recently spotted on public roads, offering the first glimpse of what could be the facelifted iteration of the compact SUV.
While heavy camouflage conceals most of the exterior details, the test mule appears to feature revised LED taillight graphics. Other visual updates are expected to include subtle revisions to the front and rear bumpers, refreshed alloy wheel designs and minor cosmetic enhancements aimed at keeping the model competitive in the segment.
Inside the cabin, Honda could introduce a range of feature upgrades. Industry expectations suggest additions such as a 360-degree camera system, ventilated front seats, a larger infotainment touchscreen, an updated instrument cluster, and revisions to the advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) package. These updates would align the Elevate more closely with recent developments seen across Honda’s global and domestic portfolio.
Mechanically, the SUV is likely to retain its existing 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which is currently available with six-speed manual and CVT transmission options. However, speculation continues regarding the possibility of a hybrid variant joining the lineup.
Honda already offers its strong hybrid technology in the City e sedan, and introducing a similar powertrain in the Elevate could help the company strengthen its position in a segment where fuel efficiency and lower emissions are becoming increasingly important purchase considerations.
Honda has not officially revealed details regarding the facelifted Elevate, and more information is expected closer to its launch.
