Bajaj cuts Freedom 125 CNG prices by Rs. 5000 across all variants
Bajaj Auto has announced a Rs. 5000 price reduction for its Freedom 125 CNG motorcycle, bringing the starting price down to Rs. 85,976/- (ex-showroom). This latest revision follows an earlier price cut of up to Rs. 10,000/- introduced in December last year, reinforcing the company’s strategy to make its innovative CNG motorcycle more accessible to a broader segment of buyers.
The updated prices now position the drum LED variant at Rs. 95,981/-, while the top-spec disc LED variant is priced at Rs. 1.11 lakh. This move comes as Bajaj seeks to further promote the Freedom 125, the world’s first motorcycle powered by compressed natural gas (CNG), in India’s highly competitive two-wheeler market.
The Freedom 125 features a 125cc single-cylinder engine that produces 9.4 BHP and 9.7 Nm of torque. A key highlight of the motorcycle is its 2-litre CNG cylinder, which delivers a claimed range of 102 km per kg of CNG, offering a highly economical commuting solution amid rising fuel prices.
In terms of equipment, the Freedom 125 comes with telescopic front forks and a rear mono-shock suspension setup. The braking hardware varies by variant, with the base models equipped with drum brakes at both ends, while the top variant features a front disc brake and a rear drum.
The price cut is expected to enhance the bike’s value proposition, especially for riders looking for low running costs and eco-friendlier alternatives to petrol-powered bikes. With rising interest in alternative fuel options, the Freedom 125 continues to be a unique proposition in the commuter segment.
