Bajaj Auto plans a massive product onslaught to regain its lost market share in the domestic market. The company is betting big across all segments.

The Pulsar 400 SS is likely to be launched in June 2015

After finally waking up from its sleep, Bajaj Auto is all set to launch six new products in the next six months, starting with the updated 100cc Platina set for sales in the next one month. Bajaj Auto is planning one new product launch every month for the next six months. The good news is, out of those six launches, three are Pulsars. Crucially though, the flagship Pulsar, the SS 400 will be launched in June 2015, being priced aggressively to satiate the growing demand in the performance segment.

Post the launch of the Platina, Bajaj Auto is expected to launch the 200 SS in early March, followed by the new Discover 125 (could be under a new brand name). The 125cc motorcycle will be followed by the launch of the Pulsar 150 NS that will rival the growing competition in the 150cc segment while post that, another 100cc motorcycle is expected (under a new brand name). The last launch of this product aggressive strategy is the 400 SS, the launch of which is being done late to give the KTM RC 390 a good head start.

Bajaj Auto doesn’t have any KTM launch lined up for the first half of the year and a 250cc bike is expected from the Austrian firm later this year. The company will also bring the Adventure 1050 to the country via the CKD route but a timeline for launch isn’t fixed yet. The CS 400 which is a Pulsar power cruiser is only going to be launched in the first half of 2016. The company is also working on twin-cylinder bikes with KTM and thus one can expect a twin-cylinder Pulsar to be launched in the country by 2017.
