BSA Scrambler 650 Features

BSA Scrambler 650 has been launched in India, marking the brand’s second offering in the country after the BSA Gold Star 650. Based on the same platform, the Scrambler 650 introduces a series of design and hardware revisions aimed at enhancing its off-road capability and scrambler appeal.

The motorcycle continues to use a 652cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, producing 45 HP and 55 Nm. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. While the powertrain remains unchanged from the Gold Star 650, the tuning is expected to suit a broader range of riding conditions.

In line with its scrambler positioning, the bike receives a number of visual updates such as a high-mounted front fender, fork gaiters and revised side panels featuring ‘65’ graphics. It also gets an LED headlamp, with an optional grille and a round LCD instrument console.

One of the key differences lies in the wheel setup, with the Scrambler 650 using a larger 19-inch front wheel paired with a 17-inch rear unit. It rides on CEAT Crossrad tyres in India. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic front forks offering 138 mm of travel and twin rear shock absorbers with 127 mm of travel.

The motorcycle has a seat height of 820 mm, ground clearance of 187 mm and a dry weight of 208 kg, indicating its focus on a balance between on-road comfort and light off-road usability.

Priced at Rs. 3.25 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Scrambler 650 is positioned competitively in the segment. It undercuts rivals such as the Royal Enfield Bear 650, offering an alternative for buyers looking for a mid-capacity scrambler with classic styling.
