Ducati To Bring 890cc Engines In DesertX & Monster
Ducati will bring its new 890cc engine to the DesertX and Monster models in 2026. The 890cc engine made its debut at EICMA 2024. It can be found in the Panigale V2, Streetfighter V2 and Multistrada V2 currently.
The 890cc V-twin engine is the brand’s lightest V-Twin engine to date, weighing around 54.4 Kg. It is also known as an L-Twin engine due to its 90-degree positioning of the cylinders. The new engine was introduced in the new Panigale V2 and Streetfighter V2 and made its way into the Multistrada V2.
The engine produces 120 HP and 93.3 Nm of torque in the Streetfighter V2 and Panigale V2. This is the engine’s highest state of tune. The engine is also tuned to 115.6 HP and 92.1 Nm of torque in the Multistrada V2.
All three V-twins are expected to launch in India later this year. According to a VIN decoder in a leaked document related to the US National Highway and Safety Administration, it is safe to assume that the 890cc engine will make its way into the DesertX and Monster.
