Hero XPulse 200 Launch Delayed To December 2018

Hero XPulse 200 1

The launch of the Hero Impulse successor has been further delayed to December 2018.

The off-road rubber tread will give the Hero XPulse 200 the ability to go on undulating surfaces

The Hero XPulse 200 launch has been further delayed as the company wants to currently focus on its Xtreme 200R motorcycle and Duet 125 and Maestro Edge 125 scooters. The company is probably also taking its time as there are no adventure bikes in the near Rs. 1 lakh bike segment.

The XPulse 200 will borrow its 200cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine from the Xtreme 200R. This motor produces 18.4 HP and 17.1 Nm of peak torque, all of which gets transferred through a 5-speed gearbox. The gearing ratio will however be different on the XPulse 200 as the bike is focussed on off-roading and is fuel-injected, unlike the Xtreme 200R which is carbureted.

To complement its adventure styling, the Hero XPulse 200 will also get a visor, hand guards and engine sump guard to protect the rider and itself from mud splash. Suspension duties will be performed by telescopic forks at the front which will have 190 mm of suspension travel. The rear will get a monoshock with 170 mm of suspension travel. Ground clearance needs to be high and Hero has given the XPulse 200 mm of it.

The Hero XPulse 200 will also come with modern features like a full-LED headlamp and a digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity. It might even get navigation to show you the way around the city and when you go on the road less taken.

Even though the Hero XPulse 200 will have a smaller engine as compared to the BMW G 310 GS, it still might be a better value for money proposition. But its real competition will be the Royal Enfield Himalayan (irrespective of the price) but in order to compete with the British bike, it first has to come to the market which Hero doesn’t seem to be in a hurry to get.
