Honda is offering the option of extending warranty on all its cars

Peace of mind is everything when buying a car, with warranty playing a crucial role. Remember how Hero is the only 2-wheeler company to offer a 5-year standard warranty? Now Honda has gone one-step ahead and is offering the option of a 7-year optional warranty on all its cars. The standard warranty is for 2-years and one can extend it till 7-years or 1-lakh kms, which ever is earlier. The ‘Honda Any Time Warranty’ as the company likes to call it can be taken at anytime, even if the standard or extended warranty is over, or even if the owner has bought the vehicle used.

Honda is also offering the warranty to owners of discontinued vehicles like the Accord, Civic (both petrol and hybrid) and Jazz. The cost of the warranty depends on the service records and also if the vehicle was in warranty prior to taking the Any Time Warranty which can be extended by 1-year/20,000 kms for a maximum of 5-years or 1 lakh kms, applicable only from the third year of the car. Under this warranty programme, the dealer will replace and repair any part which turns out to be defective and the customer has to pay nothing, not even labour.

Honda knows the importance of warranty on a car and its FAQ on its website states that the extended warranty will help in better resale should you choose to sell your car. The warranty obviously doesn’t cover wear and tear parts like tyres, wipers, etc. With Honda taking this big step to ensure customer peace of mind, we are waiting for rivals Toyota, Hyundai, Volkswagen and Maruti Suzuki to offer something. The Any Time Warranty shows Honda’s faith in its product and will surely lure more buyers to the Japanese firm.
