Hyundai Creta Electric Prototype
Spotted testing on the Himalayan Expressway

Hyundai Creta electric prototype spotted testing, launch by 2025

Hyundai is currently testing the electric version of Creta. The prototype of the EV that has been spotted on the Himalayan Expressway is wearing no camouflage and is based on the current model on sale.

We believe the production version of Creta EV is still far away and will hit the showrooms by 2025. However, it will be available in its new generation avatar or the facelifted version.

There is a protrusion under the body that might be the electric vehicle battery pack. The car has no exhaust pipes and there was no engine sound coming from the prototype while clicking these pictures.

Although specific details regarding the electric powertrain and battery pack have not been disclosed by Hyundai, it is anticipated that the production version of the Creta EV will boast impressive performance and range.

Currently Hyundai is offering two electric cars in their Indian lineup – Ioniq 5 and Kona EV. In a bid to cater to the local market and global markets, Hyundai plans to fully localise the E-GMP platform, which will underpin the Creta EV and future electric models.

We expect the Hyundai Creta EV to come in the price range of Rs. 25-30 lakhs at the time of launch. It will compete with the likes of Harrier EV, Seltos EV and Maruti’s upcoming electric vehicle. Hyundai has an ambitious plan to introduce six electric vehicles in India by 2028.
