Hyundai has revealed its latest all-electric model, the Ioniq 3, at the 2026 Milan Design Week. The new crossover, which was previously showcased as a concept in 2025, is positioned as an entry point into the brand’s growing Ioniq EV lineup and has been developed primarily with European markets in mind.
The Ioniq 3 is built on Hyundai’s 400V Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), which it shares with the Kia EV2. Production is set to take place at the company’s facility in Turkiye.
In terms of battery options, Hyundai will offer the Ioniq 3 with two configurations. The Standard Range version uses a 42.2kWh battery pack with a claimed WLTP range of up to 344 km, while the Long Range variant is equipped with a 61kWh battery, offering up to 496 km on a single charge. Charging support includes an 11kW AC charger as standard, with an optional 22kW unit, while DC fast charging is claimed to replenish the battery from 10 to 80 percent in around 29 minutes. The model also supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality.
Powering the Ioniq 3 is a single front-mounted electric motor available in two output levels. The base version produces 135 HP, while the sportier N Line variant delivers 147 HP, with both versions producing 250 Nm of torque. Hyundai claims a top speed of 170 km/hr, while the Standard variant is said to accelerate from 0-100 km/hr in approximately 9 seconds.
From a design perspective, the Ioniq 3 adopts Hyundai’s “Art of Steel” philosophy, giving it a distinctive crossover silhouette. It features signature lighting elements, aerodynamic wheels of up to 19 inches and a styling approach that aligns with the brand’s newer electric models. The interior is equipped with Hyundai’s Pleos Connect infotainment system, which is based on Android Auto, offering connected features and a modern user interface.
The Ioniq 3 will initially be launched in Europe, with no official confirmation yet regarding availability in other global markets.
