Indian Motorcycle has launched the FTR 1200 S and the FTR 1200 S Race Replica in India at Rs. 15.99 lakhs and Rs. 17.99 lakhs respectively (all prices, ex-showroom). The bikes apparently draw design inspiration from Indian’s flat-track championship-winning bike, the FTR 750. The company has begun bookings for the motorcycles against a token amount of Rs. 2 lakhs. The FTR 1200 range enters India via the CBU route, like all other Indian models.

The Indian FTR series get a 1203cc, V-Twin, liquid-cooled engine that produces 120 PS of power and a peak torque of 112.5 Nm. The powertrain is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Safety equipment on the FTR 1200 S includes ABS, wheelie mitigation control as well as lean-sensitive traction control. The bike also gets 3 riding modes – Sport, Standard and Rain. The bikes get an inverted front suspension with radially mounted dual Brembo brakes.

Both the Indian FTR 1200 S and the FTR 1200 S Race Replica get a 4.3-inch full-colour touchscreen instrument console with Bluetooth, a USB port, LED lights and cruise control. The company has even tied up with Orix India for leasing luxury bikes to enthusiasts.
