The launch of the Kia Carens will be taking place nearly 2 months after the car’s official reveal took place

Kia India has announced that the market launch of the Carens, the fourth new model from the brand for India, will take place on 15th February, 2022.

Unveiled in December, the 3-row vehicle’s bookings are ongoing at present. The token amount for reserving an allocation is Rs. 25,000/-.

Billed as a ‘recreational vehicle’ by the Korean firm, the Carens will be offered in 5 variants – Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury and Luxury Plus – in the country.

The base ‘Premium’ grade that will be offered in both 6- and 7-seater forms will come with 2 tone black and beige interior with indigo accents, Indigo metal paint dashboard and semi-leatherette black and indigo seats.

It will be equipped with manual driver seat height adjustability, front arm rest, air con vents for all 3 rows, a 7.5-inch LCD display, 5 USB Type-C ports and power sockets, among other things.

As one moves up the variant ladder, more and more features including ventilated seats, wireless smartphone charger, sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, get added. Click here to read the complete list of features the vehicle will come with.

What’s more, the car will be equipped with as many as 10 safety features including 6 airbags, ABS, ESC, VSM, BAS, and HAC as standard.

Upon launch, the Kia Carens will come with engine options such as a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol (115 PS and 144 Nm), 1.4-litre turbo-petrol (140 PS and 242 Nm) and a 1.5-litre diesel (115 PS and 250 Nm).

The transmission choices customers will have are a 6-speed manual (mainstay), 7-speed DCT (turbo-petrol only) and 6-speed automatic (diesel only). The NA petrol does not get an automatic gearbox option.
