Kia Sonet Facelift Prototype
Kia Sonet facelift to get comprehensive styling changes

Kia Sonet facelift spotted for the first time in India

Kia is testing the Sonet facelift since a long while in South Korea. Now, the prototype has been spotted in India for the first time. This test mule is doing the rounds in Hyderabad and has been spotted by MotorBeamer Kushwanth Reddy.

The mid-cycle update of the Kia Sonet will get comprehensive changes inside out. The exterior will get a completely new front profile with revised grille design, new headlights with DRLs extending towards the lower half of the updated bumper.

The side profile will mostly remain unchanged but it will get a new set of alloy wheels with diamond cut finish. Notice the red brake callipers on the test mule, also offered in the current GT variants. The alloys seem to be 16-inchers on this prototype.

The rear profile of the facelift will get newly designed tail lamps with LED units. The tail light cluster looks much bigger in size compared to the current model on sale. You can also notice the new bumper design with dual tone treatment. Kia might offer some new colours as well.

The interior too will get drastic changes. We can expect a new dashboard layout with updated dual screen setup for the digital instrument cluster and the touchscreen infotainment system. It already comes with a sizeable 10.25-inch touchscreen. Likely to be updated with new UI and better resolution.

The Sonet is already equipped with features like Bose audio system, ventilated seats, wireless charging, sunroof, etc. The new update might come with a 360 degree camera and the dashcam that we recently saw on the Exter.

Mechanically we don’t expect the compact SUV to get any new updates. It is likely to continue with the same 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine and the 1.5-litre diesel engine option.

Expect the price to go up marginally compared to the current model on sale. Launch might happen sometime early in 2024. It will compete with a wide range of cars including Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and the likes.
