The tallboy hatch has a unique design language

Kia Motors showcased a wide range of cars at the Auto Expo 2020. The South Korean brand has already received a tremendous traction in the Indian market. First Seltos and then Carnival MPV. Now they are preparing to launch the Kia Sonet compact SUV. Another product under study is Kia Soul for out country.

Yes, the Kia Soul received quite a positive feedback for its design at the biennial event. While the EV version is not viable for the company to launch. Kia is keen to introduce the Soul with petrol variants.

In terms of design, the Soul looks quite eye catching. The tallboy hatch has a unique silhouette to it. The front profile looks sleek and sharp. The side profile is boxy while the rear gets a flat design, somewhat like the Ritz.

Kia offers over 16 choices of colour options. It also comes with a sporty GT Line trim like many of its Kia siblings. There are 18-inch rims for that attractive look.

The interior has some interesting bits too with a retro feel. There is ambient lighting details across the cabin. The tweeters in the front merge with the air vents. Centre console reminds us of the MINI to some extent.

The Soul gets 8-inch colour heads-up display. 10.25-inch HD touchscreen comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There is wireless charging, sunroof, mood lighting, etc.

Company officials confirm they are seriously considering the Soul for India. If the market is progressing well after the pandemic crisis, they will introduce the car.

The Kia Sould is available in 2 engine options globally. 2.0-litre petrol 147 BHP motor and 1.6-litre turbo petrol 200 HP motor.

If launched in India, it will be priced at the premium end of the hatchback segment entering crossover territory.
