Mahindra increases Thar prices by Rs. 20,000 except for base variant
Mahindra has revised pricing for the Thar in India with most variants becoming more expensive by Rs. 20,000. The entry-level AXT Diesel 2WD variant continues at Rs. 9.99 lakhs ex-showroom while all other versions see the updated pricing from today.
The Thar range now spans from Rs. 9.99 lakhs to Rs. 17.19 lakhs ex-showroom. The highest increase is uniform across the ladder, which means the top-spec LXT Diesel 4WD AT now touches Rs. 17.19 lakhs.
The Thar is available in two trims (AXT and LXT) with 2WD and 4WD options. The lineup also offers three engine choices. The 1.5-litre diesel makes 119 HP and is paired only with a manual gearbox. The 2.0-litre turbo-petrol produces 152 HP and can be had with manual or automatic transmission. The 2.2-litre diesel puts out 132 HP and also offers manual or automatic options. Four-wheel drive is standard on the 2.2-litre diesel but optional on the turbo-petrol.
Mahindra updated the Thar in 2025 with cosmetic tweaks and feature improvements. With the latest price adjustment, the model remains positioned as a lifestyle-oriented SUV with both mainstream 2WD setups for urban buyers and 4WD variants for off-road users.
