Mahindra XUV Aero Coupe-SUV Sketch Revealed Ahead Of Auto Expo

To add to its existing range of butch SUVs, Mahindra is now going a little sporty with the new XUV Aero coupe-SUV concept that will be shown at the 2016 Auto Expo.

The XUV Aero coupe-SUV concept combines a lot of curves and sporty elements

We all know Mahindra as a manufacturer of some really tough and brawny SUVs. Have we ever thought that this automaker could actually come up with something that is even remotely sporty? Well, here’s your answer. The Indian car manufacturer is going to showcase the XUV Aero coupe-SUV concept at the 2016 Auto Expo and the first sketch of the concept has just been revealed. Mahindra recently acquired famous design firm Pininfarina but this concept has been made by Mahindra’s Indian design team itself.

The automaker claims that the XUV Aero concept will reflect bold design and will come with a lot of futuristic technology. Looking at the sketch, we can most certainly state that a lot of work seems to have gone in this and while we cannot see every angle of the coupe-SUV, whatever we can see looks quite appealing indeed. The bonnet of the vehicle has the same aggressive and curvy stance that is found in the regular XUV500 too.

The side profile shows a sporty lineage and a lot of sharp lines have been used, thus giving the car a sense of agility. The front window has a normal size while the rear window seems quite compact. The wheel arches have been given a proper bulge and the roof swoops down to the tail gate in a very smooth manner. The tail lights seem to have got a distinct design and the rear bumper uses the flared design philosophy. The bottom part of the rear bumper also has a diffuser incorporated in it.

We do not know any thing about the mechanicals of this concept yet and we are also quite pumped up to see how will its interiors look like. Mahindra is also going to set up a design studio at the 2016 Auto Expo where visitors will get a chance to witness what sort of efforts and planning went into the development of the XUV Aero coupe-SUV concept. Apart from this, Mahindra will also showcase modified versions of the TUV300 and KUV100 and will also unveil the SsangYong Tivoli for India.
