Pune-based bike manufacturer Bajaj Auto has silently launched the CT 100b commuter the motorcycle is even more affordable now.

2015 Bajaj CT 100
The CT 100 is available in two variants – Spoke and Alloy

The Bajaj CT 100 is an entry-level commuter bike that is produced for the masses. The motorcycle is available at a very affordable cost but earlier this month, we reported that Bajaj is contemplating reducing the price of the CT 100 to make it more available to users. The bike was popular in the early 2000s and then it was discontinued to make way for newer models. However, Bajaj relaunched the CT 100 not long back and it continued to generate good demand.

Bajaj has now silently launched a bare bones variant of the CT 100 and it is called the CT 100b where B stands for Beta. The model is a stripped down trim of the regular CT 100 and is priced in the whereabouts of Rs. 31,000/- thus making it the cheapest bike in India. With the latest revision in pricing, the Bajaj CT 100 now costs Rs. 35,888/- (ex-showroom, Pune) for the Spoke variant and Rs. 38,895/- for the Alloy variant.

There are few changes to the motorbike and it continues to come with body decals, optional alloy wheels, silver engine, aluminium grab handle, chrome rear brake pedal and black tinted silencer. The CT also gets extra-long seats along with a SNS (spring in spring suspension). Also, the CT 100b gets simple round headlights unlike the regular variants.

The Bajaj CT 100 is powered by a 97.2cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 8.2 PS of power and has an ARAI-claimed fuel efficiency figure of 89.5 km/l. Now we know how much Indians love mileage figures and this is one of the biggest USP’s of this vehicle. The CT 100 also comes with 110 mm drum brakes, 3-inch wide rear tyre and has a wheelbase of 1235 mm. The kerb weight stands at 108 kgs.

In the heavily competing segment of commuter bikes, the Bajaj CT 100 rubs shoulders with the likes of the Hero Splendor+, Hero HF Deluxe, TVS Star Sport and Honda CD 110. This offering also rivals its own sibling, the Bajaj Platina ES which is again known for the excellent mileage that it offers.
