Maruti DZire is consistently holding the second position amongst the top selling cars in India at present. Maximum sales come from the diesel variant. However, the automaker felt extreme heat from Honda during the launch of the Brio based Amaze sedan, which is priced just around Rs. 13,000/- higher than the DZire. In order to distract the buyers from the Amaze, Maruti Suzuki launched the limited edition DZire Regal quickly as a pretext of celebrating the DZire’s 5th anniversary. The Maruti DZire Regal is priced at Rs. 5,59,283/- (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Maruti DZire Regal is based only on the petrol VXi trim, which is a slow seller, hence no limited edition on the diesel trim. The Maruti Dzire Regal limited edition is priced Rs. 6000/- over the standard VXi trim, which looks like a sensible buy, considering the massive price difference of Rs. 24,500/- between the standard Swift hatchback and the limited edition Swift RS. What you get on the Regal edition of the DZire is the usual cosmetic treatment on the exteriors and interiors with additional features.
On the outside, the Swift DZire Regal gets silky silver painted front fog lamp housing, ORVMs and grille. A new serene blue colour is used for the exterior paint in contrast with the silver accenting. You also get body coloured mud flaps along with chrome based body graphics with Regal badging. On the inside, the Regal edition gets highlighted with leather beige upholstery along with faux wood inserts and door sill guards. In terms of features, you get the audio system seen on the ZXi variant and rear parking sensors with digital display inside the cabin. Overall the Regal edition does seem the extra dough.
