The premium vehicles segment is gaining ground in India and while Mercedes-Benz was a leader for a really long time, it was overtaken by BMW and then by Audi. Now, the German three-pointed star has stepped forward to second position and the automaker has some grand plans for the Indian market in 2014. We had recently reported that the company is planning to launch 10 new vehicles in India this year and true to that fact, some of the new vehicles will be showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo next month.
First up, Mercedes will showcase the CLA45 AMG. The CLA45 AMG is a performance version of the compact sedan CLA. While the CLA will fight it out with the Audi A3, the CLA45 AMG will give some tough competition to the Audi S4. Mercedes also produces armored vehicles like the S Guard which are completely bullet-proof and now the company will display its first SUV Guard vehicle i.e. M Guard. Another interesting product to watch out for will be the GLA Concept which is a crossover and it will compete with the BMW X1 and Audi Q3 when launched.
Mercedes sure knows there are many Formula 1 fans in India and hence they would also display the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 racing car. Not each and everyone of you will be able to visit the Auto Expo and hence Mercedes has equipped its pavilion with Go Pro cameras and Merc enthusiasts from all over the country will be able to request a LIVE demo of any vehicle by placing a request with the Twitter hashtag #mymerccam. This is a great step taken by the manufacturer and the live streaming will be available to view on YouTube also. You can visit the Mercedes-Benz pavilion at Hall No 15 of the 2014 Auto Expo.
