Mercedes has added a new BS6 compliant diesel motor to the E-Class range.
The Mercedes E-Class got updated with BS6 engines in India last year in May. However, the German luxury carmaker updated it with only two engines – 2.0-litre petrol and 2.0-litre diesel.
Mercedes-Benz India now brings back the E350d variant which is priced at Rs. 75.29 lakhs (ex-showroom). It is based on the range topping Elite trim which comes with all the bells and whistles.
Powering the new E350d is a new BS6 compliant 3.0-litre in-line-six diesel engine that produces 286 HP at 3400-4600 RPM and 600 Nm of torque at 1200-3200 RPM. It is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. 0-100 km/hr comes up in a claimed 5.7 seconds, top speed is 250 km/hr.
The new in-line-six 3.0-litre diesel motor made its debut with the Mercedes S-Class facelift. The E350d was launched with a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine initially in 2017 which had a power output of 258 HP and peak torque of 620 Nm.
The E350d is the only E-Class variant that comes with air suspension. It is a self levelling suspension that can be raised by up to 25 mm for better ground clearance. At high speeds it lowers down for better dynamics.
Some other features include 18-inch wheels, wireless phone charging for the front and rear passengers, Exclusive interior package, open-pore black ashwood trim, memory function for front and rear, Burmester surround sound, etc.
