Mercedes After Sales Facilities Expand In India, Opens New Warehouse

Mercedes-Benz India has now equipped the Chakan facility with parts warehouse, retail training academy and Vehicle Preparation Centre aiming for better customer satisfaction.

In a bid to prepare for their future growth in India, Mercedes-Benz has made some additions to their infrastructure at the Chakan facility. The three key additions to the plant include parts warehouse, retail training academy and Vehicle Preparation Centre (VPC). It was created in just 13 months with an investment of more than Rs. 1.50 crores.

The warehouse has a storing capacity of 44,000 parts and is spread over 16,500 sq. mt. This facility will improve operational efficiency and spare parts availability in India. The German carmaker claims that it’s the largest parts warehouse for a luxury carmaker. It is equipped with LED lights with motion sensing to save energy in the facility.

Mercedes-Benz retail training academy has a capacity of training 225 people everyday from dealerships having more than 15 class rooms and equal number of vehicles. This academy will help the carmaker build manpower for the Indian market. Finally, the Vehicle Preparation Centre (VPC) aims for ‘Zero Defect Customised Vehicles with high Customer Delight’.

The VPC comes with a car modification centre that offers AMG styling, Decal Kits, Specialised car upholstery, Specialised paints, Fitment of Rear Seat Entertainment System, Illuminated Star, Diamond grille, Chrome plates, Alloy wheels fitment, etc. These services have been introduced to improve Mercedes after sales in the Indian market.
