Nissan Gravite compact MPV launched in India with petrol engine options
Nissan has introduced the new Gravite compact MPV in India with an introductory starting price of Rs. 5.65 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the first 5000 customers. Bookings for the model are now open nationwide. Positioned in the sub-4-metre MPV segment, the Gravite shares its underlying CMF-A+ architecture with the Renault Triber, though it receives several styling revisions and brand-specific elements.
Prices for the Gravite range from Rs. 5.65 lakhs to Rs. 8.93 lakhs depending on variant and transmission choice. Buyers will also be offered a standard warranty of three years or 1,00,000 km, which can be extended up to 10 years or 2,00,000 km. Early customers will additionally receive complimentary service coverage for five years along with finance and upgrade schemes.
Exterior styling and special edition
While the overall body structure is familiar, Nissan has made multiple visual updates to distinguish the Gravite. The MPV features a revised front grille with a honeycomb pattern, redesigned bumpers, unique alloy wheel designs and different LED daytime running light signatures. Model badging has been added prominently on the bonnet and tailgate and the vehicle is offered in several colour choices including green, black, silver, white and grey shades.
A limited Launch Edition, restricted to 1001 units, adds cosmetic highlights such as orange trim accents and tyre-side decals to further differentiate it from the regular versions.
Cabin layout and equipment
Inside, the Gravite retains the practical three-row 5+2 seating layout associated with this platform, though Nissan has introduced a different interior theme and trim detailing. The dashboard follows a simple functional design with multiple storage spaces and rotary climate controls.
Higher variants are equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7-inch digital instrument display. Other available features include wireless smartphone connectivity, push-button start, cruise control, automatic LED headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, rear AC vents, automatic climate control and a wireless charging pad.
Safety equipment includes six airbags, parking sensors, reverse camera and tyre-pressure monitoring. The Launch Edition further adds a JBL audio system, dual-channel dashcam, ambient lighting and an in-cabin air purifier.
Engine and transmission options
Powering the Gravite is a 1.0-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 72 HP and 96 Nm of torque. The engine can be paired with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT.
Fuel efficiency is rated at 19.3 km/l for the manual version and 19.6 km/l for the AMT. Nissan has also confirmed that a dealer-installed dual-cylinder CNG kit will be offered at a later stage, available with the manual transmission.
Segment positioning
With its launch, the Gravite enters the limited sub-4m MPV category in India, where buyers currently have very few options. Nissan is targeting customers looking for an affordable three-row people mover with flexible seating and urban-friendly dimensions.
