Nissan Gravite Spotted

Nissan Gravite MPV spotted testing, launch expected in India in 2026

Nissan is preparing to expand its presence in the Indian mass-market segment with a new entry-level MPV, tentatively named Gravite. The upcoming three-row model has been spotted undergoing road tests ahead of its expected price announcement in March 2026.

The Gravite is expected to sit below Nissan’s existing offerings and will build on the brand’s recent momentum following the success of the Nissan Magnite. While the MPV will share its underpinnings with the Renault Triber, Nissan is aiming to give it a distinct visual identity and feature presentation.

Design and platform details

The Nissan Gravite is likely to be based on the CMF-A+ platform, a cost-efficient architecture jointly developed by Nissan and Renault and currently used by the Triber. Despite the shared platform and body structure, the Gravite will feature brand-specific styling elements.

Spy images and official teasers suggest that the MPV will adopt Nissan’s C-shaped design language at both the front and rear. Key exterior cues include sleek, top-mounted LED daytime running lamps, a prominent grille with geometric detailing and C-shaped bumper elements with metallic accents. The bonnet design appears similar to the Triber’s, though Nissan-specific badging and detailing help differentiate the model.

Along the sides, the Gravite is expected to feature thick body cladding, pronounced door trims and newly designed alloy wheels, reinforcing a rugged MPV stance. At the rear, C-shaped tail lamps, chrome highlights and a sculpted bumper design further set it apart from its Renault sibling.

Nissan has also teased an exclusive teal paint option for the Gravite, with the possibility of additional colour choices that will not be offered on the Triber.

Cabin and feature expectations

Inside, the Gravite is expected to receive a revised interior theme with unique upholstery and trim finishes. While the overall layout may be familiar, Nissan is likely to introduce cosmetic changes to establish a distinct cabin identity.

Expected features include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charging and multiple USB ports. Comfort-focused additions such as dedicated air vents for the second and third rows, cruise control, engine start-stop and a cooled glovebox are also likely.

Safety and powertrain options

On the safety front, the Nissan Gravite is expected to offer features such as six airbags, electronic stability control, hill start assist, traction control, front and rear parking sensors and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Mechanically, the MPV is likely to use the same 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine found in the Triber. This unit produces 72 PS and 96 Nm of torque and is expected to be offered with both 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox options.

A dealer-level CNG option is also expected, similar to Nissan’s existing approach with the Magnite. The CNG variant could command a premium of around Rs. 70,000 to Rs. 80,000 over the equivalent petrol version.
