Skoda Joyster India

Small things matter, case in point are cars, atleast in India. The small car market accounts for 70% of total car sales in the country and no manufacturer wants to be left behind. Skoda was earlier said to be working on a small car (Joyster?) but now the company has confirmed the development. The new Skoda small car will slot below the Fabia and will be available with both petrol and diesel engines. It will be manufactured at Volkswagen’s Chakan facility. The Czech automaker will launch the Rapid (Fabia sedan) and Laura S (Octavia) by the end of this year.

“We are planning to launch an entry level small car in the price range of Rs. 300,000 to Rs. 500,000 (IS$6,565-$11,000) by 2013 in India,” Thomas Kuehl, Sales and marketing chief, Skoda India, said.
