Škoda is clearly thinking big with the upcoming Škoda Peaq, and not just in size but in ambition too. This new SUV, which will be the largest car ever produced at Mladá Boleslav, signals where the brand is headed in its next phase. At nearly 4.9 metres long, the Peaq sits right at the top of Škoda’s lineup, taking forward the legacy of the Škoda Kodiaq but with a more future-ready approach. It will offer both internal combustion engines and full electric options, which feels like a smart and practical move in a market that is still evolving.
The first glimpse of the Peaq, seen testing around Lake Como, already shows a strong road presence. Clean design touches like flush door handles and large wheels give it a premium feel without going over the top. It looks modern, but still very much like a Škoda. Inside is where things get more interesting. Space has always been a strong point for the brand, and the Peaq takes that seriously.
Whether in five-seat or seven-seat form, there is a clear focus on comfort, even for passengers in the third row. The boot space is massive too, especially in the five-seat version, making it a genuinely practical family SUV. Škoda is also trying to change the overall cabin experience. The new Relax Package, which includes massage seats, footrests and even a wellness app, shows how the brand is thinking beyond just driving.
Technology plays a big role as well. A large touchscreen, augmented reality head-up display and new Android-based software bring the Peaq up to date with modern expectations. The partnership with Sonos for the sound system adds a premium touch, focusing on delivering a proper in-car audio experience.On the electric side, the Peaq looks quite capable. Built on an extended MEB platform, it offers multiple battery options with a claimed range of over 600 km in higher variants. Fast charging, all-wheel drive in select versions and features like V2L and V2H make it more than just an EV with good range.
