Suzuki GW250 To Debut At The 2012 Auto Expo

All of a sudden the 250cc segment has started to look the most lucrative to motorcycle manufacturers in the country. The Kinetic Comet (Hyosung Comet) was the first bike to enter way back in the last decade. Later on, the Kawasaki Ninja 250R re-started the performance motorcycle scene, which was followed by the recent arrival of the Honda CBR250R. Now the Hyosung GT250R and the KTM Duke 200 are scheduled to hit Indian shores, along with the Suzuki GW250 and the Yamaha 250cc machine. Now the Suzuki GW250 production has commenced in China and the 250cc machine from Suzuki is definitely set to make its Indian appearance at the 2012 Auto Expo.

Now the crucial question is about its launch. Suzuki does not want to delay the GW250 in India and plans to launch the motorcycle in the next year itself. The mass production of the GW250 at China will help satisfy the thirst of Indian bikers as the company will assemble the bike in India, importing it from China. Production in China will help Suzuki reduce costs drastically (thanks to the low cost of labour) and we can expect an aggressive pricing to compete directly with the Honda CBR250R. The Suzuki GW250 is powered by a 250cc, twin cylinder, liquid cooled, 4-stroke engine which produces 26 bhp of power at 8500 RPM and 24 Nm of torque at 7000 RPM. The 180 kgs weight of the bike won’t help mileage figures but the muscular street fighter looks are sure to win the hearts of many.
