Tata Harrier, Safari Diesel Ultra Variants Launched

Tata Harrier and Tata Safari have received new flagship variants in their diesel line-up, with Tata Motors expanding the Ultra trim to these powertrains. Earlier limited to petrol versions, the Ultra badge now sits at the top of the range for both SUVs, bringing additional features and visual enhancements.

The Harrier gets the Fearless Ultra trim, while the Safari is offered in the Accomplished Ultra variant. Prices for the Harrier Ultra range start at Rs. 23.84 lakhs, whereas the Safari Ultra begins at Rs. 24.49 lakhs (ex-showroom). Both SUVs are also available in a distinctive Red Dark edition, adding cosmetic differentiation.

With the Ultra variants, Tata has focused on enhancing in-cabin experience and convenience. Key additions include a larger 14.53-inch touchscreen infotainment system powered by Samsung display technology, along with a Dolby Atmos-enabled audio setup. A digital inside rearview mirror with an integrated dashcam is also part of the package, aiming to improve both visibility and safety.

Other feature upgrades include connected app support, built-in navigation, a dual-tone interior theme, memory function for ORVMs, a sliding front armrest, and a 65W Type-C fast charging port. Practical additions such as a wash function for both front and rear parking cameras also make their way into these trims.

On the design front, the Red Dark editions introduce visual tweaks like blacked-out 19-inch alloy wheels paired with red brake callipers. The Harrier additionally gets a new Nitro Crimson exterior shade in this version. Inside, the cabin adopts a ‘Carnelian Red’ theme with red-finished leatherette upholstery, giving the SUVs a sportier appeal.

Mechanically, both models continue with the same 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 170 HP and 350 Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.

By introducing the Ultra trims in diesel guise, Tata Motors is offering buyers more premium options in its popular SUV lineup, particularly for those who prefer diesel powertrains without compromising on features.
