The much awaited Tata Nexon EV, which is India’s first electric compact SUV has been revealed. After multiple teasers and spy shots, the Nexon EV has finally been revealed officially.

The Nexon EV gets revised styling, which will be seen on the regular Nexon’s facelift as well. The front profile now looks sharper with sleek new headlights, new grille and bumper.

The side profile is more or less the same but gets new alloys. The rear profile of the Nexon EV gets LED tail lamps with revised bumpers that now look more sporty. Instead of the white accents on the shoulder line, the Nexon EV gets blue accents. The EV gets an exclusive colour option – Electric Teal.

The interior also gets some changes including new colour theme which is light and new leatherette upholstery. The instrument cluster is semi-digital just like the Altroz.

The car gets 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There are over 30 connectivity features over smartphone app technology to control the settings of the car.

The gear selector in the Nexon EV is a rotary knob. The top-spec variant of the Nexon EV gets electric sunroof as standard. It also comes with rear camera, automatic wipers and auto headlights.

The Tata Nexon EV comes with a 30.2 kWh lithium ion battery. The electric motor produces 129 HP and 245 Nm of torque. 0-60 km/hr acceleration timing is claimed to be 4.6 seconds while 0-100 km/hr in 9.9 seconds.

It has a claimed range of over 300 kms on a full charge. The DC fast charger can charge the battery from 0 to 80 percent in an hour. The standard 15A AC charger will take 8-9 hrs for full charge.

The official bookings commence tomorrow with a booking price of Rs. 21,000/-. The Nexon EV will be launched in January 2020 with an expected price tag of Rs. 15-17 lakhs.

Tata Motors is offering 8-year/1,60,000 km warranty with the Nexon EV battery and motor.
