Compact SUV sales, like last month, boomed in March 2021 with all of the models which have been there in the market for a over a year posting positive sales growth year-on-year (YoY).

On top of the 11-model strong segment sits the Vitara Brezza from Maruti Suzuki. In all, 11,274 units of the vehicle got sold this past month.

Hyundai’s Venue once again trails the Brezza as 10,722 units of the compact SUV were retailed in March, while the Tata Nexon took the third position in the list with 8683 units.

Following the Tata car closely is the Kia Sonet which found 8498 buyers to take the fourth spot in the list. Ford EcoSport’s sales surged last month. It witnessed 5487 unit sales and came up the ranks in the March 2021 compact SUV sales list to take the fifth spot.

Once again, the Renault Kiger (3939 units) performed better than its non-identical twin, the Nissan Magnite which raked in 2987 unit sales and wedged in-between them was the Toyota Urban Cruiser with 3162 units to its name.

The next 2 positions are occupied by Mahindra products and they are the XUV300 and Thar. While the 5-star compact SUV was driven home by 2587 buyers in March, only 1912 units of the the Thar were retailed during the same period.

In the last position sits the WR-V which could only sell 978 times over, but it did witness a massive increase in year-on-year (YoY) sales to the tune of 1037 percent.

The entire segment did well on that front, for, the combined sales figure of the compact SUVs stood at 60,129 which is a 246 percent increase YoY.
