Toyota is preparing to launch a new SUV for India, likely to be the C-HR.

Toyota considering to launch a new SUV in India

Toyota India doesn’t have any SUV in their lineup below the full-size SUV Fortuner. They will be introducing a rebadged version of the Maruti Vitara Brezza but that’s for their entry-level segment.

The Japanese carmaker is considering to fill the void between the rebadged Vitara Brezza and Fortuner. They believe customers are now considering SUVs rather than C-segment sedans.

Toyota is likely to introduce the C-HR in India. With the price range expected to start from Rs. 15 lakhs (ex-showroom), it will compete with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and the likes.

The C-HR has been spotted testing quite a lot of times in our country, which also hints us about the possibility of it being introduced to the Indian market.

It has more of a crossover styling than an upright boxy SUV design. The C-HR is well equipped in the international market featuring LED lights, dual-zone climate control, power-adjustable driver seat with heating, 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment, pre-collision system, pedestrian warning, 10 airbags, radar-based cruise control and lane departure assist.

It comes with a 1.8-litre petrol hybrid and 2.0-lite turbo petrol engine options with CVT automatic transmission. The new SUV is expected to be added to the lineup by next year in India.
