Toyota Fortuner Legender India Launch In Early 2021

It will follow the Fortuner facelift to the market

Toyota is gearing up to launch the Fortuner Legender in India by early 2021. While bookings for the regular version are ongoing from November, we can expect news about the new variant’s bookings to come our way soon.

While the Fortuner facelift will hit the country’s roads first, the Legender version is expected not to waste much time and follow suit.

In terms of styling, the Toyota Fortuner Legender launch will see the SUV come with a new face that will make it look more like a Lexus model than a humble Toyota.

The front fascia will be sharp and angular, with minimal bling and a large lower air dam. It also gets new LED headlights while sequential LED blinkers are situated below.

The rear portion has also been slightly altered, while the 20-inch wheels are new too. The car’s interior might receive slight changes, like new 2-tone seat upholstery.

So, think of it as an upmarket facelift of the facelift that will come with a 9-inch central touchscreen for the infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay, while other features such as wireless charging, ambient lighting, 360-degree reversing camera, among others, will be present as standard.

Top-spec variant might also feature radar-guided cruise control, lane departure warning, and wheel orientation sensor, like in a Hilux.

A sole 2.8-litre turbo diesel engine putting out a maximum of 204 HP and 500 Nm of peak torque (said to arrive right from 1600 RPM) will power the SUV, meaning it will be no slouch.

However, the same engine will also do duty in the regular Fortuner facelift. So, no bragging rights for owners of the Legender variant. Also, it will cost considerably more than the top variant of the regular Fortuner when launched in India.
