Toyota conducted a unique Fortuner 4WD Boot Camp for the owners of the Toyota Fortuner. The exclusive off-roading experience was held at a specially designed course off the Mumbai-Pune expressway and included an introduction to 4 X 4 driving basics, eco-friendly practices and fuel saving techniques. The customers attending the camp were able to learn and enjoy the pleasures of off-roading that only a capable 4WD vehicle can offer. Highly experienced instructors held both theoretical and practical sessions that comprised steep ascends, steep descends, stone crawling (along the river bed) and overcoming obstacles. The Boot Camp is being conducted in association with Autocar on the 23rd-24th of July.
Motorbeam team was there at the Boot Camp to witness the Fortuner’s off-roading capabilities. The 3kms long off-roading stretch had a bit of every possible terrain like inclines, declines, deep water and slush. The Fortuner was upto the challenge and it did not take much effort to get to the line. Wide torque band of the Fortuner comes handy and we even drove the Fortuner in 4th gear in this patchy terrain. The event was very well organised and before starting we were given a few lessons including a brief demo drive. This is the first SUV camp by Toyota in India and the company plans to hold it at more locations.
