2022 Triumph Bonneville T100 Gold Line Edition

Triumph Bonneville 350 To Launch Soon, Will Be Powered By A New 350cc Motor

The name Bonneville is currently missing from Triumph’s 400cc lineup. The made-in-India Bonneville is nearing production; however, it will not feature a 400cc engine. Instead, Triumph will introduce it with a new 350cc motor to capitalise on the GST 2.0 policy.

Market Competition

The smaller displacement engine places the Bonneville 350 directly against the Royal Enfield Classic 350. We expect similar pricing to the popular offering. The new motor is expected to deliver a riding character closer to the Classic compared to Triumph’s 400 range.

Expected Launch

The launch may happen in a few months after the current Triumph 400 lineup. A debut around June 2026 seems likely. This model will represent Triumph’s most direct challenge yet in India’s modern-retro motorcycle space.

Triumph’s 400s have often been criticised for their compact proportions, despite their attractive designs. Many Indian buyers prefer bulkier motorcycles over compact ones. Expect the Bonneville 350 to course-correct with larger bodywork and a more substantial road presence.

Expected Design

The styling will likely stay true to the Bonneville’s international reputation for timeless retro charm. Expect a ribbed flat seat, chunky fenders, and larger side panels. Chrome detailing, wire-spoke wheels, and classic paint schemes should further enhance its appeal.

Mechanical Details

Mechanically, the Bonneville 350 will use a new liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor. It will feature a smaller bore while retaining the stroke. This setup should deliver stronger low and mid-range torque, ideal for relaxed modern-retro riding.

Outlook

Royal Enfield’s Classic 350 has remained unrivalled in its segment despite many challengers. Triumph’s strong brand recall might change that landscape. We will only know if the Bonneville 350 disrupts sales after road tests and real-world rider feedback.
