The Volkswagen Polo and Vento have been upgraded to meet BS6 norms.

The Polo GT now gets a 1.0-litre TSI instead of the older 1.2-litre TSI engine

Volkswagen has launched the BS6 versions the Polo and Vento in India. The vehicles come with new powertrains. The older 1.2-litre TSI, 1.5-litre TDI and 1.6-litre MPI engines have been discontinued. The 7-speed DSG is also not offered anymore on the Polo and Vento.

The 2020 Volkswagen Polo BS6 comes with two engine options – a 1.0-litre MPI, 3-cyl petrol engine that is mated to a new 6-speed manual gearbox and 1.0-litre TSI, 3-cyl turbo petrol engine that is available with either a 6-speed MT or a new 6-speed torque convertor AT. The MPI engine is available in Trendline, Comfortline and Highline+ trims while the TSI engine is available in Highline+ and GT trims.

The 2020 Volkswagen Vento BS6 is offered with just one engine which is the 1.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine. This is available on the Trendline, Comfortline, Highline and Highline+ trims. All the variants can be had with a 6-speed manual transmission but the 6-speed AT is available only on the Highline and Highline+ trims.

The 1.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine produces 110 HP and 175 Nm. The vehicles also come with heat insulating glass now. The Polo and Vento got a mild facelift few months back and hence no cosmetic changes have been made to the vehicles. The Ameo will be discontinued with the arrival of BS6 norms.
