Volkswagen Tayron Life Price

Volkswagen has expanded the Tayron range in India with the launch of the new Life trim, priced at Rs. 41.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). Introduced around five months after the R-Line variant, the Life trim offers the same engine and drivetrain while adopting a more understated design and a lower price tag. It is only available in a 5-seater version, unlike the R-Line, which is a 7-seater.

The Tayron Life is Rs. 5 lakh more affordable than the R-Line, making it a more accessible option for buyers looking for a premium SUV. While the styling is toned down, Volkswagen has retained the core mechanical package and most of the feature list.

Powering the Tayron Life is a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 204 HP and 320 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and Volkswagen’s all-wheel-drive system. There are no changes to the powertrain compared to the R-Line.

On the outside, the Life trim features a cleaner appearance without the gloss black accents seen on the R-Line. It gets a revised front bumper with chrome detailing and silver trim, while Matrix LED headlamps, the illuminated Volkswagen logo and the connected light bar have been carried over. The SUV also gets 19-inch alloy wheels, which are smaller than those on the R-Line.

The rear design remains largely unchanged apart from a simpler bumper. The connected LED tail-lamps, illuminated VW badge and roof spoiler continue to be offered on the new variant.

Inside the cabin, the Tayron Life comes with 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 10-colour ambient lighting, 8-speaker sound system, 18-inch wheels, rear-view camera with dynamic guidelines, Park Assist Plus with Park Distance Control, etc.

The Volkswagen Tayron Life rivals other premium SUVs such as the Skoda Kodiaq and Jeep Meridian. Like the R-Line, it is locally assembled at Volkswagen’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar plant in Maharashtra.
