Fiat India will position the Grande Punto in the premium hatchback segment. The Fiat Grande Punto will be launched in both petrol and diesel variants on June 17. Fiat India got scared of the Honda Jazz and thus postponed the launch which was earlier set to the 4th of June.

The localisation content of components of the Grande Punto would be increased up to 85% by the end of this year. Fiat is also working to ensure that the car is supported through a robust Tata-Fiat dealer network comprising of 100 sales and service outlets by time of launch.

    Sir
You are saying FIAT is scared & postpond the dt of lauch ,However if you asses carefully The FIAT would have launched the car before Honda Jazz to keep inform the pricing in market & by that Customer can bench mark the purchase .Even though many buyers might have opted for HJ.That not case ,They are launching the car after HJ just to compete in market & coming as underdog this i feel is a very good move by FIAT & hence there will hook on so that buyer might think twice before buying any car (if knowledgeable customer).People in this segement more often choose best VFM product not Any brand(hyped jazz). And more over it is not the car to pit against the FGP itis in league of Skoda Fabia or SRV.But iknow for sure the FIAT pricing will be very sensible (as always)& It may bring down few flag bearer models.Lets see & witness.

Sharma, while I agree with what you have to say, this attitude of Fiat is causing them to go down. Do you know when was the Grande Punto launched internationally? In 2005, now if the same car comes to India after 4 long years do you think Indians will appreciate Fiat? Hyundai, Maruti and Honda try to launch the latest cars in India within a few months of their international launch. The 2010 GP is under testing and we get the older model, as usual!
