After the success of the Indica Vista, Tata Motors is gearing up to roll out the Indigo Vista by June, 2009. The Indigo Vista would be based on the Indica Vista platform and will be manufactured at the new Fiat-Tata joint venture at Ranjangaon in Maharashtra. Speculated to be priced above Rs. 5 lakh, the entry-level sedan would be pitted against Maruti Swift Dzire, Mahindra Renault Logan, Hyundai Accent, Ford Ikon, Chevrolet Aveo.
The new Tata Indigo Vista diesel will be equipped with the 1.3l Multijet engine of the Fiat Linea, the petrol variant of the Tata Indigo Vista would be equipped with the 1.4l petrol engine powering the current Tata Indigo. Just like the Indica Vista, the upcoming car will be having a central character line on the hood, sharp crease lines on the door below the beltline, a honeycomb grille and striking petal shaped headlamps with tall tail lights.

fas i am booking honda city this weekend.
June 19th, 2009 at 7:45 pm
Alan, a good decision, but won’t the car be quite pricey? Yes the resale and Honda name are positives for the car.
June 25th, 2009 at 4:27 pm
INDIGO NOT BEFORE SEPTEMBER 09 FOR SURE- CONFIRMED NEWS
June 25th, 2009 at 4:29 pm
Alan, Tata seems to be delayed with all its launches this year.
June 25th, 2009 at 5:19 pm
nO FAS , THEY R LAUNCHING JAGUAR AND LAND ROVER COMING 28TH JUNE 09
June 25th, 2009 at 5:23 pm
Alan, yeah JLR is coming but the Indigo is more important.
June 25th, 2009 at 5:25 pm
u have any updates on tentative launch of indigo?
June 25th, 2009 at 6:13 pm
Alan, I am hearing August launch by the dealers. Don’t know how much its true.
June 27th, 2009 at 2:38 pm
Fas, i’m still very confused….. My budget is around 5 Lacs
which one shall i go for….
Indigo CS Dicor – Heard something on the injector’s part that its a costly affair if i need to get it replaced at any point of time approx Rs 44k for 4 injectors; cannot afford that much cost at any poin of time.
Indigo CS TDI – I didnt feel like buying, it being an outdated technology and mainly coz of pickup.
Swift Ldi – heard that there is some problem after 5k KM. some steep noise persists thereafter.
Still not able to finalise as i cannot take my budget beyond 5.5 L and need a diesel variant as there would be approx 60 kms daily run.
What about Indica Vista Quadrajet ?
And do u have any opinion on Indigo CS Dicor is there any such maintainence cost ?
June 27th, 2009 at 11:54 pm
Nipun, I would recommend you to avoid Tata diesel engines. Wait till the multijet becomes available in the Indigo. Tata engines are not all that reliable and maintenance though mayn’t be high can be a pain at times when you will have to run to the service center again and again. I would suggest you either get the Swift LDi or Indica Quadrajet (read review at http://www.motorbeam.com/cars/test-drives/tata-indica-vista/tata-indica-vista-test-drive/) The Swift engine have any problems. I am not saying from hearsay but personal experience. You can go for the Swift LDi, there is no issue in the engine. If you don’t mind bad service but more car per money, get the Indica Vista Quadrajet.

Tata Motors is gearing up to roll out the sedan version of the Indica Vista by Q1 FY10. It will be manufactured at the new Fiat-Tata joint venture plant at Ranjangaon and is expected to be priced at around Rs. 5 lakh. (Swift Dzire are you listening?).
The main highlight of the Indigo Vista would be inclusion of the popular 1.3 Multijet engine from Fiat in its line up and the use of Linea’s technology like Blue&Me for Bluetooth and USB connectivity.
June 29th, 2009 at 5:19 pm
Alan, that is 2010, not worth waiting for. Better to buy some other car.
June 29th, 2009 at 7:14 pm

July 2nd, 2009 at 5:08 pm
fas – got a chance to see the link i sent? as per that link its getting launched in july . but car looks really good
July 2nd, 2009 at 5:15 pm
Alan, I did see the link but I don’t know how authentic it is. I still feel it will take some time for Tata Motors to launch it.
July 6th, 2009 at 1:00 pm
if the new Indigo would be priced as per the link provided by Alan, even its in my budget and i could wait for a while….
anyhow, Fas, what do u say between Swift diesel and Indica Vista ??
July 6th, 2009 at 3:38 pm
what bout the comparison with respect to mileage between Indica and Swift….. ??
Planning to get one as i believe Indigo Vista may take some time….
July 7th, 2009 at 12:15 am
Nipun, get the Swift if you want peace of mind. Get the Indica if you want space and value for money. The Swift will give slightly more mileage and is more fun to drive. The Indica is just a small truck.
July 7th, 2009 at 2:45 pm
Fas, what do u say about the new Ford Ikon with the same diesel engine as in Fiesta……..?? and what bout its comparison with Swift, Indiga Vista and Indigo Vista ??
July 8th, 2009 at 12:20 am
Nipun, the Ikon diesel is a very good car, the engine is really sweet but its an old wine, the car is outdated and the braking is average. The Indica Vista is a real good car, infact dare I say better than the Swift, but the instruments in the center is weird and the engine does not feel like a multijet.
Read more on the Vista here http://www.motorbeam.com/cars/test-drives/tata-indica-vista/tata-indica-vista-test-drive/
July 8th, 2009 at 12:58 pm
thx Fas, but still very much confused…. initially was just looking for sedan but i suppose i need to settle for a hatchback…..
July 8th, 2009 at 1:08 pm
Check out this link….

some guys faced lot of issues with Swift Diesel…
July 8th, 2009 at 3:23 pm
Nipun, there can be problem with any car. I can tell you that is a one off problem and Maruti cares alot for its customers and tries to resolve the problems asap. Whatever problems were there in the Swift have been completely resolved in the Ritz.
July 8th, 2009 at 6:46 pm
Indigo vista will be out this year. Supposedly it may come in and around diwali. As of now TATA has reported a loss and so they are delaying new launches but they will definitely roll it out sometime this year. To clear one more thing the indigo vista is totally different from the indigo or the so called cab. SO do not worry about it having a cab status.
July 8th, 2009 at 10:32 pm
thats good for us and TATA
)
but still i’m afraid i wont be able to stretch my budget to 6.5 L…..
July 9th, 2009 at 3:12 pm
Nipun, get a test drive of the Swift and see how you like it.
July 23rd, 2009 at 7:02 pm
TATAs are curretnly on a selling spree with tempting offers to exhaust as many existing Indigo CS and Vistas as possible (cf: large number of threads on persistent Vista complaints). Be wary of buying any TATA car; they learn from hapless owners instead of ensuring strict QC or attempting to rectify defects themselves.
September 6th, 2009 at 1:58 am
Hey Fas, thx a lot yar i got a Swift Vdi delivered and as said the performance is very good
September 6th, 2009 at 3:06 am
Congrats Nipun. Make sure you do the running in of the car.
October 6th, 2009 at 10:54 am
Guys checkout this teaser website for the new Manza. Found it yesterday. Anybody considering a new car should wait for a while i suppose. 2 of my friends have already decided to wait for this one.The car seems quite stylish. The site also is interesting and has a unique contest running.
