Vibgyor, a West Bengal based two-wheeler manufacturer has launched a 150cc bike called the Shark at the 2010 Auto Expo. The Shark uses a 142.6cc engine and produces 13.05 PS of power at 9500 RPM and 9.6 Nm of torque at 7500 RPM. Priced at Rs. 49,990/- (ex-showroom), this motorcycle takes the crown of being the most affordable 150cc bike in the country. The Vibgyor Shark has been completely developed by Vibgyor Allied Industries’ R&D team.

Ironically though, the company hasn’t announced how it plans to retail the Vibgyor Shark in the country. Neither has the firm mentioned anything about its dealership network or its plans of setting up outlets. The motorcycle market in India is ultra competitive and any new player won’t have it easy, so this move by Vibgyor to enter the 2-wheeler space sure seems like a brave one. More information is expected about the company in the following months.
